Dried Pigs Ear Strips
Our pigs ear strips are a pigs ear that has been cut into strips and then dried. Pigs ears are probably the most popular natural dog treat on the market today, a timeless classic. They have been around for as long as we can remember, and there are good reasons for it:
They are 100% natural, that means that you get what you see – unlike most dog treats you will find on the supermarket shelves, these pigs ears are totally free from artificial preservatives and colourants. A great alternative if your dog has issues with rawhide or any other pressed treats.
They are lower odour – some pigs ears on the market can end up with you having to open your windows to ventilate the house once the bag has been opened – not ours! They are not completely odour free (I doubt your dog will like odour free pigs ears), but they are not as smelly as some which can end up in an expensive bill of air fresheners. They are a clean(er) dog treat too, not making too much of a mess in the house.
They are long lasting – depending on the size of your dog, they will help to keep your dogs occupied and help to reduce boredom, and mentally stimulate your dogs. They can even help to clean your dog’s teeth and gums – how wonderful!
They are grain & gluten free, this means that if your dog has a gluten intolerance you are safe to feed these. The most premium dog foods are grain & gluten free, so why not feed your dog some premium natural pigs ears?
Raw feeder? No problem, these are basically a raw pigs ear that has been slowly air dried so they can be stored for up to 18 months.
They have been slowly air dried, if pigs ears are dried too fast or at too high a temperature, it can cause them to go brittle and sharp. Slowly air drying our pigs ears means that they keep their flavour and increase chewy-ness. The ears that we supply have a shelf life of 18 months.
We recommend to all our customers that pigs ears should be fed to puppies older than 5 months old and are suitable for all dog breeds and sizes. However – please ensure that fresh drinking water has been provided and you should always keep a close eye on your dog when feeding any treats, not just pigs ears, as if anything was to go wrong you are there to lend a helping hand.
